Acceleration Through Innovation (ATI) is now live driving growth and innovation in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The £3,000,000 ERDF funded project led by the University of Plymouth recently launched the three-year project in Bodmin and Penzance.
The successful two-part launch event welcomed partnership organisations and interested innovative businesses to discover the opportunities available with ATI. The first of the two events held at Lanhydrock Hotel and Golf Club welcomed national guest speakers Professor Sa’ad Sam Medhat, CEO at the Institute of Innovation and Knowledge Exchange and Dennis Sherwood, Owner of the Silver Bullet Machine Manufacturing Company. Following this, the second event held at Penwith College welcomed Josie Gough, South West Regional Manager at Innovate UK and Kim Conchie, CEO of the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce. The launch enabled entrepreneurs and partners to network whilst providing the opportunity for businesses to engage and discuss business growth in Cornwall.
Working in partnership with Cornwall Innovation, ATI seeks to the take the concept of the Cornwall Innovation Centre’s out to the wider business community and will be delivering effective innovation practice across nine different locations including Bude, Launceston, Liskeard, Looe, Bodmin, Newquay, St Austell, St Marys (IOS) and Penzance. The pop-up innovation centres will offer local businesses the chance to network, attend workshops and use the available meeting room space with the superfast broadband connection.
Acceleration Through Innovation will be opening the first official Pop-up Innovation Centre in Bodmin Fore Street on Wednesday 11th October. The opening will offer a complimentary networking breakfast from 9am and as well as an afternoon tea from 2pm. Businesses and partnership networks are invited to drop in throughout the day for a coffee and a chat if unable to attend either of the networking sessions to meet the team. This is a great opportunity for businesses to discover how Cornwall Innovation will be encouraging growth in Bodmin and the surrounding areas.
