Loading Events

Dispelling the myths of Intellectual Property, Information Technology and Data Protection.

This workshop is useful for individuals, start-ups, and established businesses. It will give you the chance to find out about what intellectual property is, how it exists in your business, how you can protect it and use it to your advantage.

This workshop will cover brand protection, e.g. designs, trade marks, patents, copyright; website compliance, and the changes to data protection law (taking force in 2018) and what you need to do in order to be compliant with it and avoid significant fines.

Jowanna is an Intellectual Property and IT solicitor. Working on contentious and non-contentious matters, Jowanna provides expert advice on IP and IT, helping clients to exploit their IP as well as drafting and negotiating IP and IT contracts.

Jowanna specialises in giving advice on commercial contracts, terms and conditions, data protection and e-commerce. On the contentious side, Jowanna assists clients at all stages of litigation, bringing and defending IP infringement cases and negotiating settlements on IP and IT related issues. Jowanna qualified into Dispute Resolution in 2012 and has a strong litigation background.

She advises clients both in the UK and overseas from a broad range of sectors including digital and creative industries, tourism, fashion, beauty and manufacturing.

There are limited spaces available for the two-hour interactive workshop taking place at the Launceston Pop-up Innovation Centre.
